Zone #2 on the sprinkler system is up again!

After figuring out my sprinkler system was blowing fuses, I was able to isolate it to zone #2. Hoping it wasn't a wiring problem, I removed the solenoid and "bench tested" it by momentarily connecting it to the controller panel terminals for zone #2 and sure enough, the fuse lit up like a light bulb before promptly frying the element.

Here's an image of the solenoid that I had to replace:Of course, none of the local hardware stores carried this unit and I really didn't want to wait to order one online - FORTUNATELY, our neighbor Kelly who works at Aqua Engineering in Eden Prairie (6561 City West Parkway, (952)941-1138) saved the day! They had one in stock and she brought it to me the next day! THANKS Kelly! After bench testing the new solenoid, I installed it onto the valve, terminted the connections with silicon-filled wire nuts, closed the cover and viola! zone 2 works again!
